Environmental Stress Cracking Resistance (Often called as ESCR) is a stimulated type of test measurement for a product’s performance in a stress initiating/propagating type of environment causing failure when prestressed in some manner.
It consists of preparing a standard test specimen, initiating a stress point by a nick, stressing it by bending along the nick, and inserting in a stimulant environment at a certain temperature generally 50 Deg.C and examining it is resistance in terms of time (hours) to cracking it from the nick.
This apparatus with all the accessories with point-dot nicking arrangement to the highest accuracy and operating ease and made from better quality alloy steels. The sample holders are corrosion resistant stainless steel made. The water bath is also equipped with a accurate temperature controlled throughout the test duration. The inner is a good quality Stainless Steel sheet and a convenient test tube holder fro uninterrupted sample observation. |
